The weekend trip to Genting

We had a weekend getaway to Genting to celebrate my grandma's birthday! She is 81 this year! It was only after i went on no pay leave that me and aunty susan decided that we should plan something for grandma's birthday each year, something different from the usual makan session that we had done for so many years. It just a pity that we didn't think of doing something like that when grandpa was still around, but since grandma is still healthy and strong, we decided that each year should count as a blessing and there should be a extra special celebration. Grandma was thrilled with the chalet get together last year and this year, we decided to set the bench mark even higher with an overseas trip! In all, there were 14 of us on this trip :) quite a big big group and a first for my grandma with her 2 sons.

Had an early morning start on saturday with a 8 am flight to KL.. here's justin with his granduncle. He was super hyper and woke up at 5.30am, seemingly understanding that we are going on a trip. Thankfully he was in high spirits despite missing his breakfast and had lots of fun running around the transit area of the airport.

He fell asleep on the short plane ride :) But here's a picture of him and me before the plane took off. Luckily it was a short , no fuss 45 minutes with him in my arms sleeping whilst i tried to read the newspapers. Upon reaching KLIA, which is a first time for me... he was amazed by the LRT ride .. insisted on hanging on to the rails which obviously was quite a feat for him! THis was where The Big One saw the Mega Big Chuppa Chups .. 15 lollis in one! See the LIttle One is trying with all his might to hang to one!

After clearing immigrations, all the 14 of us boarded a mini coach that we rented for a 2 hours ride to Genting Highlands.. The LIttle One had lots of fun running around the coach (oops.. i know that's dangerous) and i managed to entertained him for 30 mins watching Hi5 (thank goodness for the DVD) and the rest, he spent trying to nap. Here is a picture of him trying to disturb the Big One :)

After a quick check-in at the Highlands Hotel, we went for lunch at some Mushroom Farm :) No, we didn't have mushroom .its just normal tze char fare ... but there were some interesting statues of animals and mushrooms at the entrance of the farm. The Little One decided to ride a deer :)

His favourite activity throughout this trip = pole dancing! Once he spots a metal pole, he will off running towards it and want to cling on to it and dance around it.. OMG! Does this give me any insight to his future career plans???

Since he was already eating solids, this trip i didn't bring much food except some biscuits for him and his milk. He basically ate what we ate and seems to really like eating rice. Didn't get a chance to go to the amusement park cos the Little One is too small so did what was next best.. shopping!! Had to do an emergency shopping trip cos i didn't bring enough long pants for him and it got colder than expected. Whilst shopping for the Little One, i saw this super super nice pink dress that i had to get for yan yan :) The Big One and I also tried a fish foot spa while the Little One napped in the Ergo carrier. Sari had the chance to go on the rides and also do some shopping! But i think that it was extra fun for her cos her sister went on the trip as well!

It was really a short trip, cos we departed Genting the very next morning.. and no, mummy and daddy didn't win it big in Genting. still it was nice bonding with my cousins and aunties and uncles :)

Happy Birthday GrandMa!
